The Bus Residency

‘The Bus Residency’ provides the opportunity for a space outside of the studio, where practice can manifest from active engagement in and with the city, via a sightseeing tour bus. A tour bus provides a change from conceptualising work within a private space (an artist’s studio) to a shifting public space (an open-topped bus that visibly circles the city).

The latest edition of ‘The Bus Residency’, took place in Glasgow in spring 2018, with an installation by Hélène Cayet and a performance by William Joys. David Fagan and Dan Newton were the first two artists to undertake the initial bus residency, with resulting digital works exhibited in Glasgow in autumn 2017.

Devised by the curatorial collective: Lunch Club. (Hannaa Hamdache, David McDiarmid, Julia Psilitelis and Joshua Speer.)
